Some links on this site are affiliate links. That means if you click one and buy a product we review, we may earn a commission from that company — at no extra cost to you.
What this means for you
- You pay the same price. Commissions are paid by the company, not added to your bill.
- Our rankings are independent. Commissions never buy placement. We rank every system on the same criteria — the completeness of its certification record, the specificity of its certified claims, and its 10-year cost — and we publish negative findings when we find them.
- We review non-partners too. Products from companies we have no affiliate relationship with appear in our comparisons because a real comparison needs them. They carry no affiliate links.
Which companies pay us
As of September 2026, we have affiliate relationships with Aquasana and Epic Water Filters. This list is updated whenever a relationship starts or ends. Affiliate links on this site carry rel="sponsored nofollow" so search engines can identify them.
What we don't do
- We don't accept payment for positive reviews or higher rankings.
- We don't let advertisers preview or edit our reviews.
- We don't publish "reviews" of products we haven't researched against the certification listings.
- We don't make health claims about products — only certification claims, which are checkable.
Why we disclose this
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires clear disclosure of material connections between reviewers and the companies they review. Beyond the legal requirement, we disclose because trust is the whole point of this site — you should know exactly how we make money.
